Elite tailgaters at the country’s premier tailgating destination
Let’s cut right to it: the Lindsay S. Memorial Tailgater of the Week Award goes to Jovin Webb, who had the Outdoor Cats tailgate vibin’ all the way through sundown.
But in a place where tailgating Just Means MoreTM — a place where tailgating isn’t practiced, but perfected — it’s impossible not to honor a bevy of Tigers and guests who delivered world class performances and/or provided incredible hospitality.
These include the aforementioned Outdoor Cats, Black Pot Trenton, Joe Joonyah & The Fryers, Lacy the Legend, the Register crew, Larry & Julie from South Dakota, bachelor parties from Illinois & Wisconsin, Davis the Destroyer, and Brother Stephen, who would’ve made the namesake of this award extremely proud.
No one tailgates quite like the folks in Baton Rouge. Where else can you:
- Feast on gumbo, étouffée, jambalaya, boudin, fried alligator, and yes, the occasional corndog
- Imbibe tailgate-specific cocktails with names like “Hair of the Cat” and “Lacy Special” to supplement your keg beer and the periodic espresso martini
- Jam to a live band
- Ride a mechanical bull
- Sip from an ice luge; and
- Whack a piñata of the opponent’s mascot until miniature bottle of Rumple Minis come pouring out
And do it all in one afternoon?
If you love college football, LSU is a must-visit destination for food, football, and revelry.
