An impromptu reunion
I’ve said many times that the best thing about traveling around for college football games is getting to meet amazing people from all different regions and backgrounds, but nothing quite compares to running into the same folks twice … at two different schools.
So the Tailgaters of the Week this week are Jamie & Bari, who I first met in Pullman, WA last season at the Colorado–Washington State game. They were at EWU this go-round to watch the game with their friends, whose son plays for the Eagles.
Jamie does a mean Coach Prime impersonation and Bari is a mixologist extraordinaire, plying me with whiskey-cider that warmed me up on a cold day in Cheney.
Honorable mention to several other groups of blended Wazzu-Eastern fans who welcomed me in with shots, hand-warmers, and hospitality. The people of the Inland Northwest are something else…
